Julian Green initially parts company with VfB and will spend the remainder of the current campaign at SpVgg Greuther Fürth in the '2. Bundesliga'. The attacker made the move to Bad Cannstatt from FC Bayern Munich in December 2016. During the latter half of last season, the 22-year-old made ten appearances in Germany’s second-flight in the shirt with the infamous red hoop, scoring one goal.
Michael Reschke, Sporting Director at VfB Stuttgart:
"For Julian, it’s very important that he gets the chance to take a regular place in the starting eleven. That has proven very difficult for him at VfB, which is why he wanted the move. We completely understand that and thus granted his transfer wish."
Julian Green:
"I was dissatisfied with my current situation at VfB and wanted to alter it. That was the reason for making the decision to move to Greuther Fürth. I hope I can help the team there and, at the same time, prove that I am a striker who is capable of scoring and creating goals."
