Ailton on loan to Estoril

Ailton Ferreira Silva is making an immediate loan move until the end of the season to Portuguese club GD Estoril Praia, from whom the winger signed to VfB in July 2017. The 22-year-old made a total of five Bundesliga appearances in the shirt with the infamous red hoop this season.

VfB Sporting director Michael Reschke:
"Due to the extreme competition for places in his position, Ailton rarely got the chance to play this season and, in addition, he struggled with injury. In making the loan move, he can get in some match-practice, which probably wouldn’t have been the case with VfB. We will keep a close eye on his development and wish him all the best for his stay in Estoril."
