Simon Terodde has made the move from VfL Bochum to VfB Stuttgart for the coming season. The 28-year-old scored 25 goals in last season’s '2. Bundesliga' campaign and thus claimed the top-scorer award. In addition, Simon Terodde provided seven assists. So far in his career, the 1,92 meter tall centre-forward has made 155 second-flight appearances, scoring 64 goals and providing 25 assists. At VfB, Simon Terodde has signed a three-year deal and will wear the number 9 jersey for the Cannstatt Boys. The details of the deal remain undisclosed.
Jochen Röttgermann, VfB head of marketing and sales:
"In the coming season, we want to achieve an immediate re-promotion to the Bundesliga. In order to do so, we need new signings such as Simon Terodde. He is really fired up about pulling on our jersey and to make some positive headlines for VfB."
VfB head coach Jos Luhukay:
"Simon embodies exactly the kind of player we have been looking for. He is big and robust, has proven his value in front of goal over several years and he knows the '2. Bundesliga'. We are delighted to have signed Simon."
Simon Terodde:
"I had several enquiries and offers from clubs both at home as well as abroad, but I really wanted the move to VfB. VfB is a fantastic club with masses of potential and they want to return to the Bundesliga as quickly as possible. I want to play my part in helping to achieve that goal and I am really looking forward to beginning pre-season preparations."
"When I’m on the pitch, then I want to win"
Simon Terodde will wear the VfB colours in the future and the 28-year-old is determined to prove his abilities in front of goal in Bad Cannstatt.
