Dietmar Allgaier was named as president of VfB Stuttgart 1893 e.V. on 1 August 2024. He is carrying out this role on an interim and a volunteer basis. As a representative of VfB Stuttgart 1893 e.V., Dietmar Allgaier is also a member of the supervisory board of VfB Stuttgart 1893 AG.
Born in Stuttgart in 1966, Allgaier graduated from school and then trained as a commercial assistant. He then studied at the Ludwigsburg University for Public Administration and Finances, graduating in fiscal affairs. In 2007, he went on to gain the qualification of executive financial manager. Prior to that, he worked for the Ludwigsburg finance department from 1992 to 1996, and then for the Stuttgart tax investigation office until 2008.
From 2008 until early 2020, he was then mayor and deputy councillor, and then lord mayor of his home town of Kornwestheim. During this period, he also worked as CEO of the Städtische Wohnbau Kornwestheim GmbH urban housing company and of TechMoteum GmbH.
On 5 January 2020, Allgaier became district administrator of Ludwigsburg. In June 2024, he was also elected to the post of councillor of the regional assembly.
In his role as district administrator, Allgaier is also chairperson of the administrative board of the Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg savings bank, chairperson of the executive board of various medical institutions (namely the Regionale Kliniken Holding RKH GmbH, the Kliniken Ludwigsburg-Bietigheim gGmbH and the Orthopädische Klinik Markgröningen gGmbH (OKM)) and the Abfallverwertungsgesellschaft des Landkreises Ludwigsburg mbH (AVL) recycling company. He is also a member of the supervisory board of the Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart GmbH (VVS) transport and tariff association. Allgaier was also chairperson in a voluntary capacity of the Städtischen Orchester Kornwestheim e.V. orchestra from 1992 bis 2001 and chairperson of the Rotary Hilfe e.V. organisation from 2017 to 2019.
Allgaier is married with two children.
