Every birthday boy and girl loves a cake with candles – and on Saturday night into Sunday, VfB Stuttgart will celebrate its 125th anniversary with some very special candlelight illuminations. Two of Stuttgart‘s landmarks will glow in White-and-Red in honour of club’s founding date of September 9th, 1893: Stuttgart’s town-hall and the burial chapel ‚Grabkapelle am Rothenberg‘. At the same time, VfB will also illuminate the Mercedes-Benz Arena in White-and-Red.
"VfB rooted in the city’s image for 125 years"
The illumination of the three buildings will begin at 20:30 CET and continue on through the night in the club-colours, until dawn breaks on VfB’s birthday. "On behalf of the entire club, I would like to express my gratitude to the city of Stuttgart and the „Staatlichen Schlössern und Gärten“ (Stately Castles and Gardens), for this wonderful birthday present, that will make it optically clear just how VfB has been rooted in the city’s image for 125 years," commented VfB president Wolfgang Dietrich.
