VfB Stuttgart and The Football Company become partners

VfB Stuttgart and The Football Company will be working together throughout the 2022/23 season, with the partnership including official digital VfB jerseys which fans from all around the world will be able to obtain.

VfB Stuttgart have entered into a partnership with The Football Club (TFC), an app developed by The Football Company, whose aim is to steer the international fan community into the digital world and give supporters extra access to their club. The link between real and digital objects will be at the forefront, with users being able to kit out their avatars in VfB jerseys, optimise their performance in online managerial games and win match tickets. 

The Football Club’s app enables users to take part in various competitions on each matchday and use the jerseys of their respective team, giving them various advantages. Winners can be rewarded with fan merchandise or tickets for stadium tours. The first drop, as it is known, of digital VfB jerseys in the community took place last week, with all of them being sold out within a few hours.

 “We are looking to bring together the classic football experience with concepts from the digital world,” said VfB CEO Alexander Wehrle. “We want to reach young people via digital and international paths and get them enthusiastic about us. Bringing TFC on board does not just give us sponsorship but above all valuable web 3.0 experience. The launch went really well, which we’re delighted about, and now we’re really excited and curious about the next steps and ideas.”
