This is what VfB stands for

VfB stands for clear values that are reflected internally and externally and anchored in our mission statement. In recent months, we have been discussing and refining certain positions that are very important to us.

VEREIN FÜ̈R BEWEGUNGSSPIELE (VfB) – ESTABLISHED IN 1893

Sports, both professional and for the general public, build upon one another and belong together. Our future is represented by the millions of girls and boys from all walks of life and from a wide variety of backgrounds who share a love of football and sport. While integration and inclusion are part of the equation, experiencing sport, being active and developing team spirit are fundamental needs and values. VfB is therefore committed to its role as a pioneer and an active lobbyist for football as a whole and other sports in the local region.

WHO DARES, WINS

We acknowledge the concept of the “Junge Wilde” (our youth set-up), and the idea of courage being rewarded. From the youth academy right up to professional level, it is our aim to put together teams and develop personalities who have the potential to bring success to VfB Stuttgart and to make people sit up and take interest. Part of this philosophy is trusting in our own youth players.

FAIRNESS AND COMEPTITION

Performance and competition are part of our DNA. We are committed to making a contribution to a healthy future for VfB and for professional football as a whole by means of transparent structures, responsible management and professional work carried out by employees at all levels who are good at their jobs. We stand for solidarity through fair competition in the Bundesliga. We are committed to the 50+1 rule and making sure that it is adhered to, with decision-making in this respect exclusively residing with the general members’ meeting as far as VfB is concerned. The articles of the VfB Stuttgart 1893 e.V. registered voluntary association ensure the rights of the members and the requirements of the public limited company (VfB Stuttgart 1893 AG) in terms of economic competitiveness in equal measure. A good working relationship between the e.V. and the AG are an absolute prerequisite – for us, there is only one VfB.

Fair competition both in sporting and economic terms is a key challenge when it comes to ensuring the appeal of football in Germany and throughout Europe. We support and endorse measures and changes made to guarantee this.

EXPERIENCING EMOTIONS IN THE STADIUM

We are proud of our colourful and diverse fan-base and activities. Our aim is always to have a stadium full to capacity where everyone is welcome. VfB rejects collective punishments and is committed to getting everyone to treat one another with respect. The final decision on the pitch is always in the hands of the referee. We welcome kick-off times that take fans into account and mean that they can travel to and from their club’s matches.

LEADING THE WAY ON BEHALF OF THE REGION

VfB Stuttgart is an ambassador for the city and the surrounding region. We accept responsibility on and off the pitch for our community and our environment. This is why we run the club based on three fundamental pillars of sustainability – focusing on ecology, economy and society – and apply for independent certification in this respect. The VfBfairplay initiative is our way of supporting those who need our help and promoting projects that strengthen our community. We all are proud to wear the same jersey.
