For logistical reasons, the game was played behind closed doors. The visitors from Switzerland took the lead in the second minute through Dominik Schmid’s goal, but Naoui Ahamada made it 1-1 before half-time with a shot from 14 metres.
That was how it stayed until eight minutes before the end, when Juan Perea netted the winner for VfB. Daxo Zagadou made his debut in a white and red shirt after signing on Monday.
VfB head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo: “We can be pleased with the friendly. We wanted to try out things that we’ve been working on in training this week, and there were a lot of positive signs. We kept it tight and also had a certain sharpness in the opponents’ penalty area, which pleased me.”
