Ailton departs on loan

VfB Stuttgart have agreed a deal to loan Brazilian defender Ailton to FK Qarabag. The 24-year-old will spend the 2019/20 season with the Azerbaijani club, who were crowned league champions for the sixth time in a row last term. Ailton has made five Bundesliga appearances for VfB to date.

Sporting director Sven Mislintat: “Due to the level of competition in his position, we expected Ailton’s playing time with us to be limited in the coming season. That’s why we looked for a solution with the player that made sense for both parties. We will keep a close eye on Ailton’s development at FK Qarabag and wish him success at his new club.”
