Antonis Aidonis will spend the coming season at newly promoted second-division side Dynamo Dresden, after VfB and Dynamo agreed a one-year loan deal. The 20-year-old’s contract at VfB runs until 30 June 2023. The centre-back has been learning his trade with the Cannstatt club since 2018, and made his professional debut at the age of just 17 years, five months and 19 days on 10 November 2018, in a 2-0 win at Nürnberg.
The Germany youth international made 18 appearances for VfB U21s in the regional league last season.
Sporting director Sven Mislintat:
“The loan to Dynamo Dresden is a very good opportunity for Toni to gain match experience at a high level with an ambitious club. We thank the management of Dynamo Dresden for the constructive and faithful cooperation, and wish Toni and Dynamo a successful campaign.”
