Darko Churlinov has joined FC Schalke 04 in a loan deal that runs until 30 June 2022 and does not include an option to buy.
The 21-year-old winger joined VfB Stuttgart from 1. FC Köln in January 2020 and went on to make six appearances during the second half of the 2019/20 season, scoring once. Churlinov clocked up 14 Bundesliga appearances and two DFB Cup outings during the 2020/21 campaign. In the opening game of the current season, the number 19 netted VfB’s final goal in a 6-0 DFB Cup first-round win over BFC Dynamo.
VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat: “Darko has developed very well since joining VfB. For him to continue in the right direction, match practice is particularly important. We believe a loan move to Schalke is the right step in his career for him to become an even more important factor at VfB.”
