Having begun his career with Egyptian club Wadi Degla SC, Marmoush moved to Wolfsburg in 2017. After playing three games for VfL’s U19s, the versatile forward made his debut for the club’s reserve side in the regional league, where he racked up 11 goals in 36 appearances.
Marmoush has made eight appearances for the Wolves’ first team in the Bundesliga, as well as two in the DFB Cup and two in the UEFA Europa League (one of them in the qualifying rounds). The Egyptian spent the second half of last season on loan at FC St. Pauli, scoring seven goals in 21 games.
VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat: “Omar Marmoush can be used anywhere across the forward line and is a valuable addition to our squad with the skills and qualities that he has. We managed to agree the loan conditions very quickly and amicably with VfL Wolfsburg, and are delighted to welcome Omar to VfB.”
