VfB have strengthened their squad with the signing of Germany U21 international Josha Vagnoman from Hamburger SV, on a contract through to 30 June 2026. Hamburg-born wing-back Vagnoman, who travelled with his new teammates to their pre-season training camp on Saturday, is a product of the HSV academy and played for all the club’s youth teams. The right-footer registered five goals and four assists in 61 Bundesliga 2 appearances for the senior side, while also turning out 12 times for Germany’s U21s.
Sporting director Sven Mislintat:
“Josha can be used on the flanks defensively and in a more offensive formation. His attributes make him one of the most interesting players in Germany in his age group. We’re convinced he has an important role to play in our game in the short term, and that he still has a lot of room for improvement. The fact that a current German U21 international has made such a firm decision to join us shows how positively VfB and our pathway are regarded. We warmly welcome Josha to Stuttgart and look forward to seeing him in the shirt with the ring around the chest.”
Josha Vagnoman:
“I’m very happy that the move has worked out. After the initial talks with those in charge, it quickly became clear to me that I wanted to move here. VfB offers young players a very good framework to develop. I want to find my feet quickly with my new team and play my role in helping us have a successful season. I’d like to thank everyone who has been involved in my education so far and wish HSV all the best for the future.”
