The forward, who has three international caps for Guinea, was born in Arles and represented France at youth level up until the U20s. Guirassy was a cornerstone of the Stade Rennes side over the last two seasons and scored 25 goals in 81 competitive outings across Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, the UEFA Champions League and Europa Conference League.
The move to VfB marks Guirassy’s second spell in Germany, having registered nine goals in 45 appearances for 1. FC Köln between 2016 and 2018.
Sporting director Sven Mislintat: “Serhou has proven his quality both in domestic and European competition, and has gained valuable experience in a variety of leagues and competitions. We’re convinced he can quickly become an important player for us. We’re pleased that Serhou will don the Stuttgart jersey and would like to welcome him warmly to VfB.”
Serhou Guirassy: “It’s nice to be back in the Bundesliga. I’ve only heard good things about Stuttgart and VfB, and I can remember the fantastic atmosphere here at the stadium from my time in Cologne. I’m looking forward to meeting my new teammates and I hope I can score goals to contribute to us all having a good season together.”
