The VfB Stuttgart first team held their first training session of the week on Tuesday, with those who were in the starting line-up against Union Berlin at the weekend doing recovery work in the gym. Players who were substituted on or didn’t feature at all took part in a session at Robert-Schlienz-Stadion led by Michael Wimmer, who has been assistant coach until now but has taken charge of first-team affairs on an interim basis.
“It is an option that Michael Wimmer could be in charge on Saturday against Bochum, maybe even for several games, but that’s not the aim,” said Sven Mislintat. The VfB sporting director is currently working closely with the club management to find a successor to Pellegrino Matarazzo.
