Chris Führich has started every competitive match for VfB so far this season, registering two goals and four assists in 600 minutes of action. This has also caught the attention of new Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann, who has handed Führich his first international call-up. The 25-year-old has been included in the squad for the friendlies against USA on Saturday 14 October (kick-off 21:00 CEST) and against Mexico on Wednesday 18 October (kick-off 02:00 CEST).
“The call-up is a recognition of Chris’ positive development,” commented VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth. “He’s made a significant leap forward in recent months and his performances have stabilised at a high level. We’re pleased for Chris himself and for us as a club that, after Josha Vagnoman at the end of last season, another VfB player has been selected for the national team.”
