Hello Frans, welcome to Stuttgart and welcome to VfB. You made your Bundesliga debut for FC Bayern but more recently, you were in the Austrian Bundesliga at FK Austria Wien. How much are you looking forward to playing in the Bundesliga once again?
Krätzig: “I can’t wait. I’m absolutely delighted to be here. VfB is a club that has made incredible progress recently. It’s amazing what the club achieved last season and what they’ve created here. I’d like to be a part of that and give it my all. The new season is a clean slate.”
How important was it for you to make the move to Austria?
Krätzig: “For me as a young player, it was very important to get a lot of game time. I want to make the most of these experiences. VfB offers me the opportunity to continue my development in a good environment and to learn from my teammates and from my own playing time. That’s why I’m here and I’m raring to go.”
Your preferred position is on the left side, and at VfB, you’ll be able to measure up against a number of good players in your position.
Krätzig: “Absolutely. For me, it’s a good combination of learning lots on the one hand, and on the other hand being up to the challenge of providing competition. It should be a good balance.”
