It’s not just the first team who will be embarking on a European tour next season. The VfB U19s will take part in the 2024/2025 UEFA Youth League, the first time that the club’s youngsters will appear in the European competition.
“Firstly, we are delighted that our Bundesliga team has qualified for the UEFA Champions League,” commented Stephan Hildebrandt, academy director. “The fact that our U19s will also be playing in the Youth League next season is more than a nice side benefit. The whole academy is looking forward to this competition. Testing ourselves against top European teams at the highest level is a big incentive for our boys and will be valuable experience for every single player. For our U19s it’s also a great chance to perform in front of big crowds and be representatives of the club across Europe.”
