Angelo Stiller joined VfB from TSG Hoffenheim in summer 2023 and played a major role in the team finishing as Bundesliga runners-up in the 2023/24 campaign and thereby qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
The midfielder has taken his game to the next level in the current season and earned the first of three senior caps for Germany so far on 7 September. Stiller has made 64 competitive appearances for VfB to date, contributing three goals and 11 assists.
Fabian Wohlgemuth, board member for sport: “Since becoming part of the VfB family, Angelo has shaped the team’s level and playing culture. He sets the tempo on the pitch and his character is an important cornerstone of the structure of our team. We’re pleased that, with this contract extension, we’re able to keep an essential part of our VfB identity at the club for a while longer.”
Angelo Stiller: “It’s been a perfect fit between VfB and me from day one. We’ve embarked on a successful path that we will continue together. I’ve experienced some wonderful moments here, from finishing as Bundesliga runners-up, to participating in the Champions League and obviously making my debut for the national team. I hope there are many more to come in the future. I would like to thank the people in charge at VfB for the appreciation they have shown me with this contract extension.”
