VfB lodge appeal

VfB Stuttgart have lodged an appeal with the German Football Association (DFB) on behalf of Nick Woltemade against the second yellow card that he received from referee Daniel Schlager in the Bundesliga match against Werder Bremen, and the resulting one-match ban for the forthcoming game against Union Berlin. The appeal has been lodged due to referee error, with Schlager admitting after the match that he had made a mistake in giving Woltemade a second booking.
