Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß: “We approached the game exactly the way you need to as favourites in the DFB Cup. It was important to take our chances early on and quickly turn the game in our favour. It’s a deserved win. We’re in the quarter-finals and we’re very happy.”
Angelo Stiller: “The fact that we scored our first and second goals early on played a key role in influencing the course of the game. We settled into the game really well, so we didn’t give them the chance to trouble us and went about our business with conviction and ruthlessness. It was obviously special to lead the team out as captain today. It makes winning the game and reaching the quarter-finals all the sweeter.”
Nick Woltemade: “We progressed comfortably, did very well for large periods of the game and are very happy to be in the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup. The two early goals were key – they helped us swing the pendulum our way in the early stages. I’m happy with my goal – that’s always nice as a striker – but the most important thing is that we’re through to the next round.”
