Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß: “The fact is we fell behind twice away from home and were able to fight back each time – and that at the end of a tough week. I’m pleased with my team’s commitment. We deserved to get a point. Now we have to recover quickly and prepare ourselves for the match in Regensburg on Tuesday. We want to be in the DFB Cup in the new year.”
Ermedin Demirovic: “It was a very hard-fought match with a lot of chances at both ends. We tried everything to win it. If you go behind twice against Bremen away from home, then coming away with a point is good at the end of the day. I’m happy I finished both of my chances and was able to help the team with my goals.”
Nick Woltemade: “It was an emotional day for me, as I played for Werder Bremen for many years. I thought a draw was a fair result on the balance of play. It’s a shame I couldn’t finish my chance in the last minute; it was a good one. After losing in Belgrade during the week, a hard-fought point away from home is ok.”
