Sporting in the last 16

VfB Stuttgart’s Under-19 side will play Sporting in the last 16 of the UEFA Youth League, after the draw was held at UEFA headquarters in Nyon on Friday afternoon. The tie will be played on 5 March (14:00 CET). 

The draw also determined which teams VfB could face in the quarter-finals. If Nico Willig’s side make it through to the next round, they will host the winners of the tie between Aston Villa and Barcelona.

Head coach Nico Willig: “It’s definitely not the draw we were hoping for. They’re an absolutely brilliant side, and it’s away from home too. That said, we’re happy to play the game and will see what we can do in this one-off tie.”
