Hannes Wolf: "It was an amazing match and we are very happy with the result. We played very well in the first-half and were unlucky to go in to the bear at 1-1. The second-half was more open. We often needed to free ourselves in order to get forward but the lads really fought hard. Josip’s goal was naturally an unbelievable moment for all of us and we even had the chance to make it 3-1. Towards the end, the lads had to throw themselves at everything and we were a bit fortunate that the ball didn’t go in. I am proud of the culture within our team. The guys battled right to the very end. That’s a good feeling. Respect to Heidenheim and all the very best. It was an amazing evening’s football."
Christian Gentner: "Both teams would have deserved the win tonight. For the spectators it was a spectacular match with plenty of chances on goal at either end. We are very happy to have had the fortune on our side in the end. We have a lot of quality in the squad and we don’t slacken off. The greeting after the goal was for my son, who celebrated his second birthday today."
Simon Terodde: "It was an unbelievable match. We dominated the game in the first-half and really should have made it 2-0, but instead we conceded an equaliser. We always believed in ourselves though and in the end we threw everything at them. I am very happy that we won tonight and I am proud to play in this team."
