Pellegrino Matarazzo, head coach: “As the match wore on, we managed to take more control and also find some more space. If we’d been a little more accurate in the way we played in the opposition’s third of the park, the result wouldn’t have been in doubt for as long as it was. We looked a bit sleepy coming out of the half-time break, but then around the 55-minute mark we took control again and got the two goals one after the other, and that put the match to bed. We also had a very strong performance from our goalkeeper. Overall we deserved our win.”
Daniel Didavi: “It was a good display from us. Up front things just keep getting better, but the final pass still goes astray quite often. When we find ourselves in front of goal, we don’t take enough of our chances, so if there’s anything to be unhappy about, it’s that we didn’t score enough goals. We should have been two or three up at the break. The longer it remains 0-0, the tougher it gets, so it was all the more important that we scored the two goals as quickly as we did and at the end of the day, we got the win that we deserved.”
Gonzalo Castro: “We played well today and that was an important victory. Going on the kind of winning run that we’re having is what you need if you want to go up at the end of the season, and we’re enjoying it. It’s too soon to be looking at the table though. We’re still just taking it one game at a time.”
